Sticking With Your Brand
We cannot stress this enough: You will get
tired of your brand before your customers ever will!
You will be seeing the same logo, the same
colors, the same type of photos, the same style of writing,
the same font choices so much that you will get sick of it!
But your customers will not.
Think of it this way: you send out 5 post
cards, they toss 3 in the garbage without so much as glancing
at them, give 1 a brief look, and think they may have seen your
company name once before by the time they've seen the last one!
If you get tired of your colors and go and change them, your
customer will lose even what little recognition they have of
your name! Do you really want to do that?
This is why it's so important to get a handle
on just how you want to present your company to the public!
Sticking with your brand means knowing what that brand is and
then using the various elements that make it up consistently.
Does this mean you are stuck with that image “till death
do you part”? Not really. No. But before you change, make
a conscious decision to do so based on changing marketing needs,
not just because you are bored with it.
Always use your logo. Always use your colors.
Always use your art. Customers ought to be able to recognize
one of your marketing pieces before they even see your name
on it! It's your brand, embrace it!
